Dunelm's Yeovil store at Quedam Shopping Centre has been temporarily closed due to a fire that broke out last weekend, August 25. The blaze caused significant damage to the store's roof and interior, with 30% of the roof space affected by the fire, while smoke and water damage impacted all contents.
The Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service, supported by Avon and Somerset Police and multiple fire crews from nearby areas, managed to extinguish the fire using an aerial ladder platform and various firefighting equipment.

The fire is believed to have started accidentally outside the building, possibly from a discarded cigarette. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as all store employees evacuated safely.
Dunelm expressed their gratitude to the emergency services and assured that they are working to support affected staff, who will be reassigned to other roles within the company during the store's closure.
