'10,000 square metres of design and interiors'

Stockholmsmässan to open its doors for Formex

On Tuesday, August 27th, Stockholmsmässan will open its doors to interior design event Formex. This fall's theme, WE ARE, runs like a thread through new areas, exhibitions, workshops, Nordic craftsmanship, and among emerging talents.

This fall's Formex features around 350 exhibitors, 10,000 square metres of design and interiors, 2,000 square metres of exhibitions, 80 program points, 17 different workshops, 17 speakers, and 8 product areas.

From August 27th to 29th, Formex returns to Stockholmsmässan – a market and meeting place focused on interior design, this time with a touch of autumn and winter flair. The fair features trend exhibitions and new types of café collaborations, including the 250-square-meter main exhibition at the entrance square, 'The Shop in the Forest – A Nordic Fairytale,' created by designer and florist Anna Starrén, Hilke Café inspired by the forests of Moominvalley with a twist by Giovanna Hilke, and The Garden Café inspired by The Great Gatsby by Silk-Ka Flowers.

Now, additional collaborations can be confirmed. To enhance the feeling of the approaching winter season, Stefan 'TrendStefan' Nilsson will present this year's most fun Christmas tree exhibition, where he has gathered several creators who have freely decorated their own Christmas trees. Visitors will also experience the sustainability exhibition 'Hållbar' curated by Malin Jensen, Maria Lagerman, and Maria Soxbo.

'For us, it was important to maximise the uniqueness of Formex. WE ARE the Nordic region's most important fair for interior design and decor. We are so much to so many, and we must cherish our industry, especially given the times and the world we live in. This time, we have added even more imaginative and practical business benefits for exhibitors, unexpected lectures, and happenings for visitors, as well as designed areas that highlight well-being and harmony in new ways. A mix of surface, depth, and profitable business is needed more than ever,' says Sonja Björk Ebert, Project Manager for Formex.

17 workshops
At Formex, you'll find many of Sweden's renowned industry experts in areas such as trends, interior design, sustainability, e-commerce, future forecasting, entrepreneurship, wallpaper art, craftsmanship, and colour theory. This year, Formex is placing extra emphasis on workshops, with Helena Lyth and Annika Sandstedt returning with new creative sessions, among others.

This year, Formex is also collaborating with Wellbeing Soul, who will be hosting an experiential booth. Here, a wide range of activities for body, mind, and soul will be offered, including workshops on cacao ceremonies, crystal reading, sound healing, and more.

For those interested in learning more about interior design, Inredningskurser Sverige AB and Sveriges Inredare are inviting participants to a workshop on the theme of multisensory customer experiences and how to design for all the senses.
