Ceconomy, the parent company of MediaMarkt, has achieved a profit growth of about 25 percent in the current financial year so far. Sales also increased in the past nine months. According to CEO Karsten Wildberger, these results are partly due to increased sales of televisions around the European Football Championship in June, as well as growth in sales through marketplaces and retail media.
The recently published quarterly figures show that Ceconomy posted a gross profit of 202 million euros, up 53 million euros from 149 million euros profit in the same period of the previous financial year. Ceconomy's turnover also increased, rising 5.2 per cent to 17.1 billion euros.
