A UK flooring company which had been running its operations out of John Lewis stores, has gone into administration, resulting in the loss of nearly 200 jobs. This business, specialising in carpets, laminate, and various other flooring types, was compelled to shut down its sections in 34 John Lewis stores right after PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) was appointed as administrators.
The Floor Room was operating independently from John Lewis and was a sister company to Carpetright, that went into administration last month.

The Floor Room also had a standalone store in London, but is currently unable to complete any pending orders. John Lewis, which did not own The Floor Room, has stated that it is trying to assess the impact of the closure on the company's customers and staff. The retail giant has promised to do everything it can to support those impacted by this abrupt closure.
