Nordstil Summer welcomed the industry back to Hamburg from July 27 to 29. Approximately 9,000 trade fair visitors explored the latest product innovations from 581 exhibitors representing 23 countries. The event featured sustainable trends, business-promoting exchanges, and inspiring product ranges, providing positive momentum for the upcoming fall and winter seasons amid planning uncertainties.
The three days of Nordstil Summer 2024 offered intensive networking, profitable contacts, and an engaging lecture program. Visitors from Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, and Italy (the top six visitor countries) discovered exciting products for autumn, winter, and Christmas.
'Time itself is a valuable asset. In economically challenging times, inspiring products, exciting ranges, and emotional stories are crucial at the point of sale. Nordstil provides all of this, from gourmet delights and home ideas to tasteful gifts,' says Philipp Ferger, Vice President Consumer Goods Fairs, Messe Frankfurt. 'Over the past three days, the desire for personal contact has proven strong. Nordstil stands for both this and its unique product combination.'
Christian Haeser, Managing Director of the German Trade Association Handelsverband Wohnen und Büro, emphasises Nordstil's role in providing business inspiration: 'Nordstil offers an unparalleled platform, especially for current trends in style and design. I was impressed by the diverse and innovative design products and the direct exchange with designers and experts, which allowed our retailers to expand their networks and gather new ideas. The trade fair once again exceeded my expectations and provided lasting inspiration.'
Trade visitors characterized by high quality and efficiency
'Nordstil is a stable trade fair that has developed very well. We have tried many trade fairs and chose those offering the best range; that's why we are here. We meet quality visitors and reliable business partners who understand store operations. It also serves as a gateway to trade buyers from Denmark and Sweden,' says Philip Ahlström, General Manager, TheMoshi, Sweden. Till Harrendorf, Managing Director, Theodor Maass, Germany, underscores the importance of trade fairs, especially in challenging times: 'Trade fairs are crucial for showcasing well-managed stores. Many visitors come to Nordstil to discover new products and trends. We are satisfied with the event.'
Entering Fall and Winter with ease
Exhibitors showcased many new products and colourful Christmas decorations, with two prominent styles emerging: bright colours and pastel minimalism, as well as futuristic shapes and natural designs. Warm yellows, violet variations, and peach tones evoke the 70s, while muted colours like blue, brown, grey, and green paired with off-white create harmonious living spaces. Natural prints, floral motifs, and maritime themes reflect a longing for the sea. Surfaces with craftsmanship and materials such as wood, ceramics, linen, and wool underscore the ongoing sustainability trend. These trends reflect a sense of lightness through a colourful connection to nature.
Nordstil Winter will take place from January 11 to 13, 2025. The next Nordstil Summer will be held from July 26 to 28, 2025.
