April brought positive news for trade as sales soared in Sweden. Consumers showed a willingness to spend, reflected in the recent figures from Statistics Sweden. Overall retail sales volume increased by 0.3 percent compared to March, with the grocery trade leading the way with a notable 0.8 percent rise. In contrast, rare goods trade saw a more modest increase of 0.1 percent.
Looking at the year-on-year comparison, April 2024 outshone April 2023, with a 0.5 percent increase in retail sales volume.
