Ritzwell's GQ Side Table again honoured in Red Dot Design Awards

With the GQ Side Table, designed by Shinsaku Miyamoto, President, Creative Director, and Designer of the important Japanese furniture manufacturer Ritzwell, the company takes home the 'Red Dot Design Award 2024' for the fourth time in just a few years. This prestigious international design award has been organized by the Nordrhein-Westfalen Design Centre for more than 60 years. Ritzwell had already been awarded this acknowledgement for several other pieces signed by Shinsaku Miyamoto, including the Jabara Sideboard in 2018, the Beatrix High Back Easy Chair in 2019, and the Jabara Av Board, which received the most prestigious award, the 'Best of the Best', also in 2019.

The GQ Side Table is now added to the list of products by the brand that have been rewarded for the excellence of their design, strong personality, and valuable artisanal workmanship. This servant table for the conversation room or night area combines a circular cantilever top in walnut or oak wood with a slender frame in stainless steel, available in several finishes and colours. The frame is warmed up by a leather coating with exposed seams, enhancing the sartorial workmanship of the details typical of Ritzwell's production. Thanks to its essential design, compact size, and lightness, the GQ SIDE TABLE can easily be transported in one hand and perfectly blends into any environment.

Shinsaku Miyamoto, President and Creative Director of Ritzwell since 2018, supervises the artistic direction of all the brand's products, from graphic design to the actual creation of interiors. Born in Fukuoka in 1978, he graduated in architecture from Kyushu Sangyo University and dedicated himself to furniture production in Hida Takayama. At the age of 25, he moved to Italy, where he worked in a workshop producing classic-style furniture. Upon his return to Japan, he began designing his own pieces. In 2005, he joined Ritzwell as a designer, and in 2018, he took on his current role at the head of the company. Founded in 1992 in Fukuoka by Toshiaki Miyamoto, Shinsaku's father, Ritzwell is globally acknowledged for the quality of its products, which perfectly combine Japanese culture and sensitivity with a contemporary style.
