Dutch Architect Matthijs Zeelenberg sells his villa for 10 million euros

"Perched atop a dune, with sea views from one of your three private towers, lies one of the most exclusive homes for sale in the Netherlands. Price tag: 10 million euros. But for that, you get an extremely luxurious villa that can also be hermetically sealed. "I wanted to make it a safe fortress," reports architect Matthijs Zeelenberg (77) in an interview with AD.

Architect Matthijs Zeelenberg and his wife Richtje are selling their unique villa at Blomweg 1 in Ouddorp for ten million euros. After 35 years, they are leaving the property because it has become too large now that their children have moved out and they want to travel. Despite their departure, they remain active, with Zeelenberg still working about 40 hours a week.

]The house, designed by Zeelenberg himself, is a 'safe' fortress with a unique layout and modern amenities, such as a solar meadow with 270 solar panels. Zeelenberg, an experienced architect, designed the property with safety and comfort in mind, inspired by his childhood experiences. Although he leaves the house with a heavy heart, he looks forward to new adventures and modernisations, but emphasises that once he leaves, he will not return.
