King Charles continues reign as patron of The Campaign for Wool in UK

King Charles will continue his role as the patron of The Campaign for Wool following a review of his patronages. As the patron of the Campaign, King Charles will continue to actively participate in promoting the environmental advantages and ecological benefits of wool across various regions of the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Italy and South Africa, as he has for the past decade.

This campaign originated from his personal initiative back in 2008 when he was the Prince of Wales. It was officially launched in 2010 with the aim of supporting wool growers across the Commonwealth and countering the increasing popularity of synthetic fibres in fashion, interior design, and construction.

This environmentally-focused initiative aligns well with the king's recent emphasis on climate, community, Commonwealth, and culture. He has consistently advocated for the natural benefits and utilization of wool. These are all issues that he first addressed more than 50 years ago during his student days when mainstream plastic use began to rise.
