In April, there was a notable surge in new furnishing businesses, with over a thousand new registrations reported. Data obtained by Companies House, a registration authority for companies in the UK, specifies that 1,081 new companies from across the furniture industry registered in April.
These registrations encompassed various sectors within the furnishing industry, including furniture and carpet retail, manufacturing, wholesale, and services like furniture repair and agents involved in the sale of household goods.

Companies House listings data for April 2024 show furniture retail and lighting incorporations registrations stood at 136 for the month. Carpet and floor coverings retail registrations tallied at 61 for April 2024.
Furniture manufacturer registrations - for companies involved in the manufacture of kitchen, office, shop and other furniture - totalled 177. As many as 285 agents seeking to be involved in the sale of furniture and household goods registered.
