An interview with Gilson Crippa, CEO of Zeea

'Every Zeea piece, from furniture to accessories, embodies the essence of luxury'

With a welcoming showroom located on bustling Avenida Brasil in São Paulo, the Brazillian furniture brand Zeea has become a destination for customers seeking exclusive and sophisticated pieces. We interview the CEO Gilson Crippa about the brand's recent participation at Salone del Mobile.Milano.

Could you tell us about the history of the brand?
'The brand Zeea emerged as an innovative response to market demands amidst the pandemic, establishing its factory in Sorocaba - SP, to produce high-quality luxury furniture. From its inception, Zeea has been known for its ability to continually introduce new products, staying at the forefront of design and innovation.

Over time, Zeea has cultivated strategic partnerships with renowned architects and designers, ensuring a constant reinvention of its product line and a collaborative approach to design. One notable collaboration was the successful partnership with Azimut, resulting in unique products that combine the luxury and technical excellence of both brands. Zeea's international recognition was solidified with its debut at the prestigious Milan Fair, consolidating its position as a brand of exclusive and unique design in the global luxury furniture market. With its history of innovation, quality, and collaboration, Zeea continues to inspire and delight customers both nationally and now internationally.'

In what markets is the brand active, and how are the market conditions right now?
'Zeea is currently active in several markets, on an occasional basis, and with a strong presence in Brazil and expanding internationally. Despite recent challenges, including economic fluctuations, Zeea remains resilient. The brand continues to adapt its strategies to meet the evolving needs of consumers, leveraging its reputation for quality and innovation to maintain its competitive edge. Additionally, Zeea's commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious practices resonates well with increasingly environmentally aware consumers, further strengthening its position in the market. Overall, while market conditions may vary, Zeea remains focused on growth and expansion, poised to capitalise on emerging opportunities both domestically and internationally.'

Sustainability is a core value embedded in the brand's ethos. How is this reflected in Zeea's practices?
'In addition to our ongoing efforts to reduce waste and minimise our environmental footprint, we are proud to introduce our latest initiative: the launch of our exclusive line of handbags made from leftover fabric scraps. By repurposing materials from our production process, we not only contribute to reducing textile waste but also offer our customers stylish and eco-friendly accessories that align with their values.'

You were recently at Salone del Mobile in Milan. What did you think of the fair?
'Attending Salone del Mobile in Milan was an enriching experience for Zeea. The fair showcased an impressive array of design innovations and trends from around the world, providing valuable insights into the evolving landscape of the furniture industry. Zeea was particularly inspired by the creativity and craftsmanship on display, reaffirming our commitment to pushing the boundaries of design excellence. Moreover, the opportunity to network with industry peers and engage with design enthusiasts further underscored the importance of international events like Salone del Mobile in fostering collaboration and driving innovation within the design community. Overall, our experience at the fair was both enlightening and invigorating, and we look forward to future opportunities to participate and contribute to this esteemed event.'

What products were on show?
'At Salone del Mobile, Zeea proudly showcased the Fúrcula Chair and Musa Armchair, designed by the talented Tiago Curioni. These pieces carry Zeea's legitimate DNA. The Fúrcula Chair captivated attendees with its innovative design, while the Musa Armchair exuded sophistication and comfort. Both products received positive feedback from visitors and design professionals, who appreciated their unique aesthetic appeal and attention to detail. The combination of Curioni's design expertise and Zeea's commitment to quality craftsmanship resonated well with the audience, further solidifying the brand's reputation for excellence in the global furniture market.'

What's in store for you now? Are there any future fairs on the program?
'Zeea's focus for the near future is centred on Milan next year and expanding its exportation efforts. While the brand has received invitations from the US and Japan for future fairs, the current priority is to prepare for the upcoming Milan fair and to strengthen its presence in international markets through strategic export initiatives. By concentrating on these key objectives, Zeea aims to further establish itself as a leading force in the global furniture industry, showcasing its innovative designs and commitment to quality craftsmanship on an international stage.

As Zeea continues to expand and reach new markets, we remain dedicated to upholding the highest standards of quality across all our products. Whether producing on a small scale or meeting the demands of larger markets, our commitment to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction remains unwavering. We believe that maintaining this focus on quality ensures that every Zeea piece, from furniture to accessories, embodies the essence of luxury and excellence that our customers have come to expect.'
