Ukiyo, the new collection from Cosentino's compact Dekton material. Ukiyo (pronounced u-key-yo in Japanese), introduces a new concept of chromatic textures offering two possibilities of linear and geometric grooves. The collection was created in collaboration with product and interior designer Claudia Afshar and is available in ready-to-use grooved slabs for both interior and exterior design.
Inspired by Japanese and contemporary design, it celebrates the art of minimalism. Ukiyo, meaning 'living in the moment', is designed to stimulate the senses and evoke a sense of well-being by achieving a state of tranquillity in its applications. This is made possible through a rich colour palette with a geometric structure. The textures add a distinctive depth and dimension to any space, whether residential or commercial.
"I have always been inspired by the materials we find in nature and to make the spaces I design as comfortable, warm, and authentic as possible. Ukiyo brings peace and elegant simplicity, and the colour schemes and grooves are romantic, yet contemporary and masculine to achieve a balance," says Claudia Afshar. Alongside Dekton Ukiyo Nacre, the colors include bromo, kreta, umber, and rem.
Dekton products are CO2 neutral throughout their lifecycle and were selected for the collection due to their sustainable properties and high performance. Dekton Ukiyo is ideal for an almost unlimited range of vertical applications, from facades and fireplaces to custom-made furniture and much more. It is available in a matte finish and in two groove options: GV2 with 25 mm grooves, a 5 mm wide spacing, and 3 mm depth; and GV3 with 11 mm grooves and a 4 mm wide spacing and depth. Both structures are provided in panels measuring 450 mm wide and 3000 mm long.
