Germany's 'Room In A Box' makes headway in North America

The sustainable and minimalist German furniture brand Room in A Box (RIAB) has launched the Bett 2.0, an environmentally-conscious brand. This move is expected to enhance its impact in North America, as RIAB North America.

The Bett 2.0 incorporates a bed frame crafted from 100% recyclable corrugated cardboard, which has been manufactured locally. The bed frames, available in sizes from twin to king, are made with 70% post-consumer recycled material and are fully recyclable at the end of their life cycle.

RIAB originated in Berlin, Germany, in 2013, driven by the mission to offer eco-friendly alternatives to traditional furniture. Elevating patented German designs, RIAB North America produces simple, functional pieces in U.S.-based facilities. The brand exclusively sells online, and for every product sold, a tree is planted through its partner, Eden Reforestation Projects, an organization dedicated to landscape restoration on a large scale.

The Bett 2.0 has a versatile bed frame designed to elevate any space. The frames arrive pre-assembled and compact in their boxes, requiring minimal setup. With a life expectancy of approximately 10 years, any damaged components can be easily replaced without the need to dispose of the entire piece of furniture.

RIAB North America's designs are characterised by elegance, functionality, and robust engineering, with over a hundred thousand bed frames already in use across Europe. The natural surfaces of durable kraft paper offer warmth, softness, and resilience, making RIAB products a sustainable alternative to conventional furniture pieces. Additionally, corrugated board has a beneficial effect on indoor humidity regulation and room acoustics due to its sound-absorbing properties.

Bett 2.0 marks just the beginning for RIAB North America, with plans to introduce a variety of eco-friendly furniture collections and furniture varieties, including storage, tables, seating, and more.
