A new future unfolds for Pastoe through an acquisition by a joint venture between lifestyle brand Moooi and RSGA Design, which comprises Rietveld Originals, Spectrum, Gelderland, and Atelier Artiforte. On March 29, 2024, Moooi and RSGA Design reached a final agreement with curator Mr. Bas van Dijen of Okkerse & Schop Advocaten on behalf of Pastoe's estate regarding the mentioned acquisition. Marcel Wanders (Moooi) becomes co-owner.
Moooi and RSGA Design recognize the immense potential to rejuvenate the Pastoe brand and its unique collection under their combined flag, forming the new entity Pastoe Furniture BV. In the upcoming period, there will be a focused effort on optimizing the collection and restarting production in a modified form. Distribution will occur through the existing channels of both Moooi and RSGA Design.
It's a harsh truth that bankruptcy always brings damage. Moooi and RSGA Design are acutely aware of this and will endeavor to engage in discussions with the involved parties where possible.
