Despite achieving record profits, Inditex, the parent company of brands such as Zara(-Home) and Bershka, saw Spanish employees protest on Friday for improved working conditions. The protests took place at Inditex stores in 7 Spanish cities and were supported by the country's two largest unions. Employees are demanding higher bonuses and other benefits.
In 2023, Inditex recorded significant profit growth, with a net profit increase of nearly 30 percent to 5.4 billion euros and a revenue increase from 32.5 billion euros to almost 35.9 billion euros. Zara remains Inditex's flagship brand, generating over 26 billion euros in revenue, which represents almost 75 percent of the total.
