Brazilian luxury furniture brand expands to Europe with debut store in Portugal

Sierra, a luxury furniture brand originating from Brazil, makes its debut in the continent with the opening of its flagship store in Portugal.

Founded by Luiz André Tissot in 1990, Sierra began its journey in a small town in Rio Grande do Sul. Initially starting as an importer of high-end luxury items crafted by Italian designers, the brand swiftly evolved, leveraging Tissot's family background in wooden craftsmanship. Over the past 34 years, Sierra has witnessed remarkable growth, with production now firmly established in South America and a vast network of over 70 stores across Brazil and 30 internationally.

However, breaking into the European market remained a coveted goal for Sierra. This ambition materialised with the inauguration of its first European showroom on March 21st in Lisbon, Portugal. Nestled within the vibrant Braço de Prata district, the expansive 600-square-meter space showcases Sierra's signature collections, predominantly crafted from solid wood using traditional "fatto a mano" techniques.

The Braço de Prata showroom serves as a sanctuary for discerning clientele to immerse themselves in the Sierra experience, meticulously crafted to evoke a sense of luxury and sophistication. While Portugal remains a focal point for Sierra's European expansion, the brand's aspirations extend far beyond its inaugural showroom. With discussions already underway with Spanish entrepreneurs and prospective projects in France and England, Sierra's foray into Europe has been met with enthusiasm.
