IKEA will open its first store in Northwest Ireland

IKEA has revealed plans for its newest Irish store, located at The Canopy in Sligo, marking its inaugural presence in the northwest of the country. Scheduled to open next month, this will be IKEA's sixth Plan and Order Point in Ireland, with intentions to launch three more by year's end.

Plan and Order Points serve as smaller IKEA outlets focused on home furnishings planning, particularly for kitchen and wardrobe designs. Customers can receive expert advice and assistance in designing their living spaces, with the option to order products from the full IKEA range for direct delivery.

The Sligo store, set to open on April 19, will feature six different kitchens, two PAX wardrobe solutions, a planning area, and an appliance studio. The Canopy expressed excitement about IKEA's presence, envisioning it as a valuable resource for homeowners in the region. The introduction of the Sligo Plan and Order Point follows successful launches in Naas, Cork, Drogheda, Carlow, and Dublin's St. Stephen's Green Shopping Centre.

This expansion coincides with IKEA's ongoing efforts to reduce prices, with nearly 300 popular items seeing price cuts ahead of the Easter holidays, including the iconic 'BILLY Bookcase'.
