French retailer Conforama plans to expand

Conforama, a prominent player in the furniture retail sector, is set to embark on an ambitious expansion strategy by opening approximately twenty franchised stores by the end of 2026. This move underscores the company's commitment to revitalising its growth trajectory following its acquisition by the Lutz group in April 2022.

Since the acquisition, Conforama has been transparent about its aspirations to pursue a balanced and paced development strategy. With 178 units now operating across mainland France and overseas, Conforama has revealed a new store concept, signalling its dedication to enhancing customer experience and modernising its brand positioning.

Central to Conforama's expansion plans is the franchising model, which offers flexibility and scalability. The company aims to capitalise on this approach by targeting store formats ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 square meters, designed to appeal to both potential franchisees and consumers. Already, a dozen units have been successfully opened under this model.
