As restaurateur Daniel Berlin's Vyn puts Österlen on the global gastronomic map, Gärsnäs is along for the adventure with a whole new series of furniture, designed by Anton Björsing.
Southern Swedish cuisine and furniture of the highest order. As restaurateur Daniel Berlin's Vyn puts Österlen on the global gastronomic map, Gärsnäs is along for the adventure with a whole new series of furniture. It is designed by Anton Björsing, a designer based in Landskrona and friend to Daniel Berlin. Björsing also designed the furniture for Berlin's earlier restaurant in Skåne Tranås. When it was time to start a new restaurant on the coast between Brantevik and Skillinge, the collaboration was renewed. And their ambitions were sky high.

'Daniel aims as high as possible. The new restaurant is international class, in terms of the dining, quality, interiors, the building itself and the site. We needed to find a manufacturer that could match this. Gärsnäs was talked about rather early,' says Anton Björsing. Gärsnäs was the natural and obvious choice. 'They can make this type of furniture, at the highest and best level. There is no other choice to get this quality,' says Björsing. Furthermore, the factory is less than 20 km from the restaurant and hotel. Talk about local sourcing.
'At Gärsnäs, we are extremely proud and happy to make furniture for this culinary pearl. I think our special Gärsnäs feeling and the local presence is important to Daniel,' says Dag Klockby. It was the beginning of a fine collaboration.
First, Anton Björsing met the people at Gärsnäs and then the work commenced at once. Four new products were made for Vyn restaurant: Vyn armchair, Vyn easychair and the Simris sofa and easy chair. After the restaurant opened Gärsnäs presented the new furniture for the general market. Now everyone can sit as comfortably and stylishly as at Vyn.
In addition to the Vyn series, Gärsnäs also supplied round and rectangular Tak tables in solid oak, designed by David Regestam, Bond side tables in oak with alder-root veneer, designed by Märta Friman, as well as Åke Axelsson's bench-sofa in oak and leather.
