The Spanish company OGO Furniture was one of the exhibitors at the imm Cologne fair last January. The company represents unique design inspired by moments spent with family and relaxation. We asked them what they presented, how the reactions were, and what the plans are for the coming year.
OGO Furniture stands out because of its unique design, especially in the realm of outdoor furniture. Can you elaborate on the inspiration behind creating versatile pool furniture?
'We are inspired by life; by "chilling out" and enjoying our free time with family and friends. Our design team loves those moments of joy, and we understand how important it is to set the right atmosphere in both private and communal spaces to create unforgettable moments.'
OGO Furniture emphasises the versatility of its pool accessories, allowing them to be customised for various environments. How does the design team achieve this adaptability, and what aspects of the furniture can users mix and match to create their ideal chill-out space?
'Our team goes to great lengths to find the right fabrics that will guarantee the highest quality and durability that we want for our items, and within that, we aim to create the widest possible range of colours and textures. The versatility within most of our items– which, apart from their general outdoor use can also be used in the swimming pool– will trigger a brainstorm for any creative interior designer to use in their projects. For instance, they can use the sun loungers from the new Duna collection next to the pool, and surround the area with our "Doughnut Sofas", our "Flowers", or our iconic "Starfish" to add colour and fun to the environment.'
Having recently exhibited at imm Cologne, what were the reactions and feedback from visitors regarding OGO Furniture's new releases? Were there particular pieces or features that garnered significant attention from the professional audience?'
'OGO is always well received by the public when attending fairs, and this was no different at imm Cologne. Both international and local clients are often surprised by the quality of our fabrics, made in Europe with a 5-year colour guarantee, the quality of the manufacturing, 100% made in Spain, and, above all, by the ingenious designs and their versatility: "Are they floating?", "And do they not get punctured?" No, they are not inflatables… This is something that always surprises our visitors. We make fun designs to create unforgettable spaces and moments.'
The floating feature of OGO Furniture is a unique and intriguing aspect. Could you share insights into the materials and design elements that enable the furniture to float, and how does this innovation contribute to the overall outdoor and poolside experience?
'The reason why our items float is not a secret: their filling is made of expanded polystyrene, the famous cork beads, although from now on they will be manufactured from Biomass, since our commitment to the environment is deeply rooted in our hearts.
The quality of our products lies in the fact that they are made with a unique, breathable and drainable fabric. Water enters the product but comes out when taken out of the water, allowing it to be stored away during the winter months, and despite this, UV light will still not damage the fabric. We guarantee 5 years of impeccable colour.'
Looking ahead, what plans does OGO Furniture have for the coming year?
'Our goals are focused, on the one hand, on the expansion of the brand to other countries, which is why we participate in the next Hability fair in Las Vegas, from April 30 to May 2. Bringing the product closer to the end customer to avoid unnecessary CO2 waste is one of our objectives. On the other hand, the OGO team is enthusiastic about new ideas and projects, which is something that makes us stand out. We have only just recently launched the DUNA loungers and we already have new ideas that will be presented at the Valencia at Feria Hábitat 2024.'
