Renowned for supplying cutting-edge machines, systems, and solutions for the precise and efficient manufacture of furniture worldwide, the IMA Schelling Group has taken a significant step forward by inaugurating its own subsidiary in Istanbul. This strategic move aims to enhance proximity to customers in the Turkish market.
The Turkish furniture market is a booming industry. The industry's turnover is estimated at almost eight billion US dollars in 2024, and annual growth of almost nine per cent is forecast for the next five years. 'Over 300 of our machines are in use in the country, a third of them in Istanbul,' explains Enes Morkoc, Director Service of IMA Schelling Istanbul Makina Ltd Sti. This is why the IMA Schelling Group opened its subsidiary in Istanbul in January 2024.
The newly established site now provides customers in the Turkish market with service and spare parts support as well as assistance with the installation of new machines. 'We want to support our local customers faster and more efficiently,' emphasises Morkoc. An expansion of the team to include service technicians is planned in the foreseeable future.
'We see potential in the expanding Turkish market,' emphasises Simon Waterbaer, Director Sales at IMA Schelling. This is why the machine and system specialist has not only opened the new subsidiary, but will also be presenting its solutions to visitors at the Woodtech trade fair in Istanbul from 12 to 16 October 2024.
