The Future Indicator, a metric that amalgamates expectations related to sales, workforce size, and profitability, saw a notable rise to 80.8 in January, compared to 75.5 in December, for traditional retailers. This increase suggests a more positive outlook among brick-and-mortar store owners for the upcoming months.

Simultaneously, the optimism extends to e-commerce retailers, with their Future Indicator climbing to 88.3 in January from 82.1 in the previous month. The growing confidence in the future among online businesses indicates a favourable trajectory for the e-commerce sector.
