The relocation of its store from Place de la Madeleine to the eastern part of Paris, scheduled for September 12, 2024, compels Ikea to reevaluate its entire offering in the capital. Construction has already commenced. 'Paris is a crucial market. By adapting our formulas and transforming our stores, we are completing our system and will be present on both banks of the Seine,' explains David Teixeira, director of the Ile de France stores, as reported by Capital.

Of the ten stores that the brand can utilise to form a network in the Paris region, three are situated within the city limits. Last year, they welcomed nearly three million visitors. The closure of the Ikea de la Madeleine store will be a particularly symbolic act, as it was the first in the world to open its doors in the city centre. However, this move to the East also reshuffles the local deck and forces the brand to reconsider the role of each of its stores in the capital.
