In 2023, the total number of requested building permits for prefabricated homes stood at 1,604 apartments, a significant drop from the 3,549 permits reported in 2022. This decline is indicative of shifting trends in the construction sector, with fluctuating demand for prefabricated housing.

The regional breakdown of building permits highlights specific areas experiencing pronounced decreases. Stockholm, for instance, saw a decline of 52.8%, while Västra Götaland and Skåne reported decreases of 54.1% and 38.4%, respectively.
