A Belgian silicone producer has announced that it is acquiring the Italian adhesive manufacturer Durante Adesivi for more than 100 million euros. This acquisition, their largest ever, strengthens their position in the industrial adhesives market.

The company in question is the Flemish firm Soudal. It is taking over Durante Adesivi, which mainly supplies hot-melt adhesives to the furniture industry. Soudal, primarily known in the construction market for mastics such as silicones, sees the acquisition as complementary to their existing operations. With this acquisition, the company aims for a turnover of 1.5 billion euros and diversification within the industrial adhesives sector.
