Nestled near La Clusaz, the Mountain House chalet, designed by studio razavi architecture, redefines Savoyard housing by seamlessly blending tradition and modernity. The architects' meticulous analysis of regional history informs a reinterpretation of local style, evident in the base's historic aesthetic and the protective staggered design of stacked wooden boxes. The chalet's modern allure harmoniously coexists with its historic surroundings.
Elevated bliss: journey through light and warmth in the mountain house
Ascend through the Mountain House, where each floor unfolds a heightened sense of brightness, culminating in a top-floor living space featuring a fireplace and a room-high panoramic window. This space offers a captivating view of snow-covered landscapes and mountains, creating an atmosphere of warmth. The first-floor bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, adorned with wooden panels, exude a cosy ambience. The Black matt kitchen and locally-inspired furniture add a touch of sophistication, harmonizing with the chalet's Alpine heritage.
Elegance in every detail: a symphony of wood, stone, and minimalist design
In crafting the Mountain House's bathrooms and sauna zone, architects artfully combined wood and large-sized dark natural stone slabs, creating a visually dynamic interplay of light and dark, hot and cold. Design icon, TARA, graces these spaces, complemented by the META series in the shower, contributing to the chalet's flawless minimalist design. Every detail embodies the distinctive characteristics of Dornbracht, adding a touch of refined elegance to this architectural masterpiece.
