While high street visits surged by a notable 8.8%, overall footfall still lags by roughly 15% when compared to 2019, before the initial COVID-19 lockdown.
Conversely, Central London witnessed a 10.6% spike in footfall versus 2022 and a modest 1.6% increase from pre-pandemic levels.
Despite the increased foot traffic, estimated spending on Boxing Day dipped by 3% compared to the previous year, tallying approximately £3.7 billion.
