Wayfair CEO Niraj Shah recently sent an email to employees urging them to work harder and blend work and life for success. In the email, Shah emphasised the fulfilment derived from ambitious efforts and stated that laziness is not rewarded with success. He encouraged employees to approach work with dedication and responsiveness, emphasising the importance of long hours. Additionally, Shah suggested treating company expenditures as personal money and making thoughtful spending decisions.
Wayfair, with approximately 15,000 employees, experienced a boost during the pandemic but faced challenges in 2022 as workers returned to offices, leading to a 5% workforce reduction. However, the company has rebounded, reporting $2.9 billion in sales for the quarter ending September 30, a 3.7% increase from the previous year.
