Wooden furniture export from China experienced 15% decline

The wooden furniture export from China experienced a 15% decline in the period from January to October 2023.

In the first ten months of 2023, China experienced a 15% year-on-year decline in wooden furniture imports, totalling US $637 million. Italy emerged as the primary supplier, contributing US $286 million, a 16% decrease compared to the previous year, constituting 45% of China's total imports. Despite a rise in wooden furniture imports from Sweden, the overall national total decreased due to declines from other major suppliers. Among the top eight suppliers, accounting for 83% of imports, only Sweden saw an increase. Specifically, China's wooden furniture imports from the USA dropped significantly by 40%, amounting to US$3.76 million.
