A Chicago-based law firm has formally filed a lawsuit against Ashley Furniture due to severe burns from a fire sparked by a defective LED battery within a recliner sold by both Ashley Furniture and Affordable Furniture STL. The fire, occurring in May, caused burns to over 20% of his body.
Responding to the lawsuit, Ashley Furniture stated that the lawsuit filing was the first time they received news regarding the fire, asserting that the man had not contacted them prior to this formal legal action.
