Design products made with biomaterials

Orange- and lemon peels & coffee take on new life

Italian company Krill Design fosuces on creating furniture using a biomaterial named Rekrill. The patented material distinguishes itself by being fully organic, biodegradable, and endlessly recyclable. Their mission revolves around revolutionising the furniture industry by introducing sustainable solutions through the use of Rekrill in their product lines. The Ohmie lamp for instance is made of Rekrill Orange, an organic material obtained from the recovery of orange peels.

'We process reclaimed raw materials such as orange peels, lemon peels and coffee scraps into Rekrill, a 100% organic biomaterial designed to last. Thus, we make 3D printed design products to breathe new life into your environments while respecting nature', the brand says.
