The German brand Man of Parts introduces its new Sandy Cove pieces, inspired by the jutting cliffs and rugged coves of the Eastern Canadian Newfoundland’s Fogo Island.
Fogo Island is an outport community: a remote coastal settlement unique to the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Fogo Islanders are people of the sea who have made their living by fishing on the waters of the North Atlantic. Sandy Cove is a curved gathering place celebrated by the community since the early 16th century.
Sandy Cove is designed by Sebastian Herkner. 'His use of buttresses echo both the natural formations propping up the rugged coastline and their prominence along some of Fogo’s most humble and beautiful structures', the brand says in their press release.
