Danish design studio Moebe will not participate in Black Friday this year. Each year the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States traditionally marks the start of the Christmas shopping season. Many stores offer highly promoted sales at discounted prices.
'Black Friday isn’t really our style', Moebe says on social media. 'Great design should not be led by trends or quick deals, and we want to make sure that what you buy lasts a lifetime. We think it is important to have the space to connect with designs in your own time, safe in the knowledge that the price today will be the price tomorrow. Black Friday just doesn’t make sense to us, and it’s why we are not participating.'
