Fabbian presents two collections: Comet and Lancetta

Italian lighting company Fabbian has two new light fittings, first presented at Euroluce 2023, Comet and Lancetta, characterised by their minimalist lines.

Comet
In 2023 Fabbian invited Signorotto+Partners, an interdisciplinary team specialising in architecture, interior design, landscape, urban planning and of course, industrial design. The distinctive features of their design approach are clean, linear outlines and a simplified style. Out of their experience comes Comet, a lamp inspired by the astronomical phenomenon from which it takes its name. The lamp consists of two elements: the light point that evokes the nucleus of a comet and the elongated lampshade that recalls the luminous tail.

'When the light is directed in this way, it forms a delicate wake that gives the space a soft, enveloping luminous effect that makes it ideal for public spaces like shops or waiting rooms but also private spaces like hotel bedrooms or rooms of minimalist design', Fabbian mentions in their press release.

The Comet range consists of a wall fitting. The diffuser is a sphere of blown glass wrapped by a U-shaped aluminium lampshade painted in the colours anthracite, white, bronze, royal gold, or Corten. The light source is a high-efficiency and dimmable phase-cut G9 LED bulb.

Lancetta
In Lancetta, the freshness of the young designer Mario Alessiani is found once again in his reference to geometry. For Alessiani, design has to combine quality with thought and must be easily understandable by everyone. He prefers clean shapes because they allow the eye to focus on the functional and productive aspects. For that reason he focuses on just a few details because he wants them to be noticed, exactly as with Lancetta.

'It is a collection with two lives: when it is off, it is an object that coexists with the spaces where it is placed, with great minimalism and geometric rigour. When it is turned on, it gives a surprise by adding a circular pool of light that it projects on the wall, completing the shape. The minimalist design of this lamp, and its small size, mean it can be used in many different public and private settings, particularly corridors, entrances, or long passages. Moreover its clean, simple design adapts to different styles of interior, from modern to contemporary classic.'

The Lancetta collection consists of a wall lamp in different finishes: white, anthracite, Corten, bronze, and royal gold. The lamp consists of two main parts: the L-shaped aluminium structure and the light source integrated into the upper part; the optics are designed specifically to cast a perfect circle on the wall. The light source is high efficiency LED.
