St Vincents presents an exclusive residency by Pierre Augustin Rose

Bridging the joyful divide between Antwerp and Paris, St Vincents is
hosting an exclusive residency by Parisian brand Pierre Augustin Rose at their showroom in Antwerp, this fall. In celebration of their long-standing partnership, Pierre Augustin Rose will command the gallery’s Ground Floor, offering a curated selection from their furniture
and lighting collection.

Blending elements of both a store and gallery, St Vincents stands as a
dynamic space, showcasing a variety of works dedicated to contemporary and collectable design. Guided by the visionary minds of Pierre Bénard, Augustin Deleuze, and Nina Rose, the new exhibition exemplifies the brand's signature style. Their appreciation for unique spaces and their understanding of 20th-century art, design, and heritage has been the key to their creative wealth. Together, they explore historic and vernacular Gustavian, French Empire, and Bauhaus applied arts through a contemporary lens.

'In perfect harmony towards the same ambition of style, we do not seek to participate in a competition of originality but to impose with
integrity, a personal style, an ode to the perennial modernity without
giving up certain audacity', says Bénard.

In dialogue with artworks by Korean Artist Semi Kim, the takeover marks the gallery’s first presentation of a dedicated body of work of this magnitude. Featuring over 20 unique works rendered by the design trio, the program offers an in-depth exploration into the studio’s vision, ethos, and inspirations, all while allowing visitors to interact with the collection and understand the level of craftsmanship involved.

Henri Delbarre, co-founder of St Vincents says: 'With a single gesture,
Pierre Augustin Rose can conjure an elegant and refined atmosphere.' Characterized by simple lines, innovative design, and classic inspirations, Pierre Augustin Rose stands as a testament to their
dedication to carrying a tradition of refined French modernism and
craftsmanship. The show features a combination of new and past items.

'Between us, there is an unspoken alignment in both ethos and style. We believe that craftsmanship should be nurtured and safeguarded, and that design should be authentic and enduring. Our presentation is also unconventional; we diverge from the standard white cube showroom conventions. Rough around the edges, the juxtaposition of styles and the dialogue between disciplines created an unexpected and contrasting backdrop that suited the luxurious Parisian collection', says Geraldine Jackman, co-founder of St Vincents.

The exhibition is on view through Saturday, November 25, 2023.
