The incident, which occurred in February 2021, resulted in the insurer demanding a substantial $5.8 million in damages. The 57 containers that disappeared at sea were laden with merchandise from Target, the second-largest retail chain in the United States, right after Walmart. Starr provided insurance coverage for the goods in transit.
